Context (Amendments / updates)
The catalogue card for 1935.286 notes that this cicada is 'No. 345 Purchase of Karlbeck Syndicate 1934/5.' However, the object does not match the description for No. 345, which is listed in Karlbeck report 12 (1932) as a 'ring of light blue glass'. 1935.286 also does not match any of the cicadas listed in any of the Karlbeck reports (See archive for reports: BR2/1/1, BR2/1/2, and BR2/1/3). It is therefore uncertain whether the object was collected by Orvar Karlbeck on behalf of the Karlbeck Syndicate.
