Description

Stone altar, roughly rectangular with an arched top and straight sides. Carved inscription within a rectangular frame bordered by sets of sets of parallel lines on front face; reverse, sides and top features rough chip marks. Small notch carved out of top. Inscription reads: 'The First Cohort of Vangiones made (this) under the charge of Julius Paullus, the tribune'
