Large Samian bowl with moulded design in panels below an ovolo border. There is a plain band 2 inches deep above the decoration. Foot and part of the bowl restored. Possible cursive stamp just above foot. The bowl contained a cremation burial

Found and broken by the mechanical digger while laying a sewerage trench on the north side of Road 3," 1953, close to the point where the stone coffins and burials were found in August 1952. The digger man thought the bowl was found at a depth of 6 feet, but this is unlikely since the second cremation found in this area (53 492) was found in the gas-trench, which did not exceed 4 feet in depth The bowl contained a cremation burial; Date: ?2 Century AD - ?Late; Collected by: Frend.W.H.C in 1953
