Context (Acquisition Details)
Cypriot material originally in the Fitzwilliam Museum entered MAA’s collection by two distinct routes: by deposit in 1951 and 1953, and by transfer from the Museum of Classical Archaeology in 1951, after first being transferred to that museum by the Fitzwilliam around 1938. It is not currently known which of these applies to this object.

Context (Amendments / updates)
The Source for Z 20816 A was previously identified as 'Jenkinson, Francis John Henry [bequeather]', however during the Stores Move Project (2020-2025), this object was found to be marked with a plate no. and Fitzwilliam Museum no. These markings correspond with the Winifred Lamb (1936) publication entry which identifies the bequeather as 'E. Towry Whyte'. It is likely that Z 20816 A-B were grouped together and given the same Source information. The Source field has now been updated to read 'Whyte, Edward Towry [bequeather]; Fitzwilliam Museum [collector and ?depositor]; ?Museum of Classical Archaeology [donor]'.
