Description

Ceramic bowl, reconstructed from sherds, everted rim on a short upright neck, carinated upper shoulders tapering to a flat splayed base, two horizontal flat handles on opposing sides attached to upper shoulders with ends slightly recurved. Interior surface with brown or dark red slip with band of unslipped clay. Exterior surface in black or dark red pigment with bands of lines or dots on rim and lower body, upper shoulders divided into square panels by bands of vertical lines; squares filled in with central bird motif, possibly ducks or storks; hooked cross in upper left corner; vertical line of chevrons bottom right corner, possibly representing leaves or plant; roughly circular cluster of dots bottom left corner. Outer material buff to light pink or orange in colour.
