Description

Twelve sherds from nine different vessels of Red Polished Ware. One simple rim sherd of a small bowl. Three matching sherds of a big vertical rod handle, circular in section, presumably from rim to shoulder. One small rod handle sherd, circular in section. Four body sherds from different vessels with red polished slip on the exterior. Two matching body sherds of a hemispherical bowl, with red polished slip changing to black on the exterior and black slip on interior. One body sherd of a globular body, presumably of a small juglet, with incised decoration of unframed hatched lozenges filled with lime.

Context (Field collection)
From graves. Collected by James Stewart, British School at Athens, likely in 1937-1938 during the excavations at Vounous. According to Eve Stewart, 'at weekends, he and his foreman, Tryphonas Koulermos, often explored other Bronze Age sites on the north of the island... Transferred from the Museum of Classical Archaeology to MAA in November 1951. It was likely originally owned by the Fitzwilliam Museum and part of the transfer of Cypriot material to the Museum of Classical Archaeology around 1938.
