Context (Auction / Sale)
Probably from Cyprus. An early Bronze Age type in Cyprus. A collection of pottery and terra-cotta figures "the property of the late Ambassador to Constantinople" was bought, on behalf of Mesrs Jolley of Cambridge in September 1923, at a sale at Bournemouth (cost 5/- and 3/6). Many of the objects, probably a definite majority were undoubtedly from Cyprus, and it is possible that the whole collection came thence. But none bore any labels
