Description

Incomplete Bellarmine jug of brown salt-glazed stoneware. Simple, upright rim; long, narrow, upright neck; biconical body; concave, ribbed pedestal base. A flat strap handle runs from below rim to body. Neck bearing a moulded bearded face at base; body decorated with stamped foliage and floral patterns and roundels of bearded man in profile. Multiple indentations on body; part of rim and neck broken off and missing; handle reconstructed.
