Description
Copper alloy double looped socketed axe. Straight cutting edge with no bevel tapering slightly to a plain body. Wedge shaped cross section with two loops either side of the square socket around which is a pronounced moulding ring. A casting seam is visible and a dark patina and pitting is present across the whole surface of the object with areas of loss to the cutting edge. A small patch of light blue corrosion material is present on one face.
