Description

Copper alloy palstave axe. Slightly flared blade edge with a straight cutting edge and no discernible bevel. The body is thin with three raised moulded lines between the integral loops. On both sides are hafting flanges with rectangular portions of negative space. At the end is a hemispherical hollow casting jet butt. Large portions of the surface have white lead corrosion material and some areas of possible bronze disease.
