Description

Vessel, possibly a jar or a tall bowl, of coarse, gritty, orange-brown fabric. External surface is smoothed and painted brown. Reconstructed. Part of the rim is broken, with two sherds detached. The vessel has: a flat base, slightly thickened; a globular body; a rounded shoulder with five small, rounded knobs, one broken and missing; a concave neck; an everted rim with a rounded edge.

Grave 1824. Excavated by Josef Szombathy, Naturhistorisches Museum, Vienna in July 1890. According to Teržan et al (1985), 'Graves 1817 to 1876 were originally marked in Szombathy's diary from 1 to 60, but they were later transferred to graves from 1817 to 1876' (p. 403); this was originally numbered Grave 8.
