The Place and Production fields have been updated to reflect where Reverend Rowland Veale was born as stamped on the pot (Gwithian, Cornwall), and where he studied (Oxford) around 1778, the year stamped on the pot. Since it is uncertain where it was produced or found, they have both been queried.

Onion wine bottle of dark green glass. Small, everted rim with applied string-course; neck flaring towards body; squat, cylindrical body with straight walls; concave base with punt. Body is stamped with circular seal reading: 'Row d. Veale Gwithian 1778'

Alumni Oxonienses: The Members of the University of Oxford, 1715-1886, by Joseph Foster: Reverend Rowland Veale is a recorded alumni of the University of Oxford. He was born of Gwithian, Cornwall; matriculated at Exeter College 1st April 1789, and died at Gwithian in 1815.
