Description
Copper alloy scabbard chape with decorated face and flat back. Socket gently flares towards mouth; lower section of chape is rounded with a small basal knob. Socket mouth decorated with a crenelated top below which sits a heart-shaped cut-out; below this is a horizontal raised collar which sits above the rounded lower section; face of lower section features a trefoil cut-out from which radiate grooved lines. Interior edge of chape has inward-facing flange onto which a separate plain sheet has been attached; now somewhat crumpled and pierced by two holes through which a metal wire has been threaded.
