The accession register and one catalogue card gives the collector as Mrs Venn. However, when the record was created a note was added saying that this object is from the Ridgeway Collection. This information may have come from a second catalogue card, now missing. This information may be accurate, or may have been added in error. Socketed brass top from a ceremonial staff. Flat, spear-like top with symmetrical curled embellishments on its lower half; cylindrical socket, pierced on one side by a circular hole.
