Context (Amendments / updates)
The Accessions Register records only A and B for 1923.1172, however a later hand (probably Mary Cra'ster) adds '18th cent = original wicker-covered. J.G. Hurst'. Three bottles have been found marked with this number (1923.1172), two labelled "A". There are also two database records for this idno. The bottle found with the wicker fragment has therefore been allocated this (separate) record. It is marked "1923.1172 A".
