Description (Physical description)
Key with pointed, heart-shaped bow, sub-cylindrical pin shank, and single bit of stepped form, with one large key ward on the upper front edge and one small key ward on the bottom front edge. The shank has been bent along its length.

Context (Analysis)
Cf. London Museum Medieval Catalogue, especially Fig. 42, Type VIII. Type VIII keys are distinguished by their heart-shaped bows, and are reported to date from the 15th century into the Post Medieval period. As such, the Period field has been changed from 'Medieval' to '?Medieval; ?Post Medieval'.
