Description

Glazed red ware square floor tile with white clay decoration. Possibly of Thames Basin type or local Cambridge area type. Quarter circle at corner containing section of a design incorporating interlocking triangles, likely forming a star. This all surrounded by a band of foliate decoration featuring what appear to be four-leaf clovers. Encircled face mask at other corner. When tessellated with other tiles of similar design, this would form a larger pattern of circles. Damage to one corner.
