Description
Large, rounded jug of salt-glazed stoneware. Wide mouth with upright simple rim; small vertical strap handle attached below rim and at shoulder; short neck ringed at its base with a raised ridge; surface of neck decorated with three, evenly spaced bearded faces, applied and stamped in low relief; symmetrical, rounded body decorated with three evenly spaced medallions, emblazoned with a coat of arms enclosed by a floral border, applied and stamped in low relief; body tapers to a slight pedestal base; pedestal base ringed by three horizontal ridges above a rounded edge; slightly concave base. Large crack running from rim to base on one side.
