Description

Slender jug of buff brown ware with mottled green and yellow glaze. Wide mouth with simple rim featuring flattened top and pinched spout; cylindrical neck tapering towards body; single vertical strap handle attached below rim and at shoulder; rounded upper body features two bands formed from two parallel incised lines; lower two-thirds of body tapers towards flat base; underside of base features wire marks. Mottled green and yellow glaze present on upper half of exterior surface. Glazed surface marred in places, possible due to firing error or kiln furniture.
