Description
Puzzle jug of redware with orange glaze and green mottling. The top socketed projection is filled in and rests on a faceted shoulder; from which two opposing loop handles extend to the body, with circular cross-sections and vertical circular impressions down the handle. The body is rounded with a banded shoulder; halfway down, perpendicular to the upper handles are two hollow spouts curving upwards; supported by loop strap handles horizontal to body. Base has thickly splayed faceted footring; base is hollowed in conical shape; a hole at the top of this is probably later damage. Hole to side of body shows the conical base does not extend all the way up. Top rim and rim side spouts are missing.
