Gilt copper alloy belt buckle with swivelling arm. Made out of three separate components: bar with a curved 'locking' arm with a globular terminal decorated with spiralling grooves; pin with a long tube hinging on bar; rectangular frame with a notched front and transverse groove.

The Period field was changed from 'Medieval' to 'Medieval; 14th Century; 15th Century' as Ross Whitehead (1996). Buckles 1250-1800, p. 89 gives a parallel with the buckle No. 552, dated to c1350-1450.
