The collection deposited by the Musée des Antiquités Nationales in St Germain en Laye was examined by Guillaume Goujon and Nathalie Baills-Talbi in 2006. They created a list of MAN objects on deposit at MAA since 1919 [see Loan Files].

Context (Amendments / updates)
This object is incorrectly marked 1923.1074, erroneously connecting it to Palaeolithic material donated by William Ransom. It is instead part of Z 25761, which was lent to the museum from Musée des Antiquités Nationales (MAN) and is marked with MAN's numbering system; this identification was confirmed by loan lists (see Loan File). It is unclear why or when this mistake took place, but it may relate to the fact that 1923.1074 and Z 25761 are both Palaeolithic material from France.
