Small bowl of incense cup type, with incised zig zag decoration with white inlay.
'these vessels are also known as pygmy cups. Also found inside the cup: 11 sherds of cremated human bone, probably long bone ends. Two sherds have become detached from the cup. 2/5/2002 - S. Webb

Found in c. 1890 above the limestone rocks at Espersoton lime quarry, and given to Lewis Douglas Wilson by Mr David Finlayson, foreman of the works
'Note in box states "incense cup. Found about 1890 in the firm? or soft earth above the linestone rocks at Espersoton lime quarry (Gorebridge, Midlothian) and give to Lewis Douglas Wilson by Mr David Finlayson Foreman of the works. Food vesels of sun-baked clay and bones were found near, but the food vessels soon crumbled to dust" Possibly human bone relates to food vessels rather than cup. 2/5/2002 - S. Webb'
