Description (CMS Description)
Pale blue-green faience amuletic standing statuette of Thoth with a back pillar. The god is represented as an ibis-headed, anthropomorphic deity wearing a kilt and a lappeted wig. He holds both arms down by his sides. The base of the back pillar and the legs of the figure are now missing, but a photograph in the Object Register shows that, originally, Thoth was shown with engaged left leg advanced. The beak is not fully disengaged and the tip is missing. The back pillar is pierced laterally behind the shoulders for suspension. (see Davies and Smith)
