Context (Amendments / updates)
There is a little confusion over the original Field Collection entry which dates the object's excavation to 1913. In Petrie and Mackay (1915), it states 'The excavation described in this volume were carried on in the winter 1911-12'. It appears that Tarkhan was excavated during 1912-13. This one whole area is split in name by date as stated in Petrie, Wainwright and Gardiner (1913) 'As a distinctive name is required for the early remains, which are the more important, this volume is named from the nearest village Kafr Tarkhan: while the later remains after the ist or iind dynasty will be named from the more general name of Kafr Ammar, the railway-station at a little distance'. As this object is of a later date it is associated with Kafr Ammar and may really have been excavated in the season 1911-12.

Context (Amendments / updates)
It appears this object was assigned the idno 1916.239 in error. This object 1915.362 was unaccounted for and there is no catalogue card or database record for this idno. 1915.362 is however described in the accession register as a 'beaded mummy-covering (imperfect) with beaded band (perfect)'. The catalogue card for 1916.239 appears to be a late addition to the card system, possibly written by Aidan Dodson and created on sight of the object with its label. The annual report number is AR 1915.239 and this appears correctly in the report. The report however was published in 1916 which could explain where the '1916' part of the incorrect idno came from. In the accession register, the 1916.239 entry is not for a mummy covering but for a fob-chain from Cambridge.
