Description

One oblong fish spear of worked bone. Distal end, circular in cross section, tapering into a pointed tip with one small barb in different positions on either side; proximal end blade-like, with curved edge sharpened on both sides tapering into pointed tip. Yellow and reddish brown surface coloration.

This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.
