One oblong piece of worked ivory, wrapped in the centre with a braided band of baleen; possibly a gull hook, but lacking a groove for the barb. Ivory with to blunt ends and one side with a flat convex bulge. Yellow surface coloration.

Description (Physical description)
Description for Z 46184.75 [A-D]: 'Originally record stated four worked fragments of bone. Two are, in fact, wood and one is ivory and one is narwhal tusk. The piece of ivory has been worked to form a shaft with a ?blade at one end. It is roughly paddle-shaped with plaited baleen tied around one end. One of the wood fragments is a fish spear, with a groove for the ivory barb and marks for the binding.'

This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.
