Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.

Description (Physical description)
One piece of worked wood, possibly upper part of a sling handle or dog whip-stocks. Roughly oval in cross section; broken off at wider end, tapering towards other end with rounded tip; eight or six notches respectively on the sides.
