Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.

Description (Physical description)
One knife handle of worked bone. One half the grip, roughly rectangular in cross section with rounded edges, slightly slanted towards the truncated end with one transversely drilled circular hole; other half lenticular in cross section with thin edge slotted on one side to accommodate a blade, now missing. Brown surface coloration.
