Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.

Description (Physical description)
One oblong piece of worked wood, circular in cross section; possibly a fragment of an arrow shaft; one end broken off and missing, with remains of a transversely drilled circular hole; the other truncated. Transverse notch close to preserved end.
