Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.

Roof support, made of whale's rib bone, broken at one end, two notches on either side of midpoint, next two two areas carved areas of bone which curve inward, one end carved with rectangular shape.
