Description (Physical description)
One knife handle of worked bone, roughly square in cross section with bevelled edges. Proximal end rounded with a lateral knob and a diagonally drilled circular perforation, now blocked up by an unknown fibre. Lower side concave, upper almost straight; on surface with irregular punctations. Distal end slightly wider with a slot a the tip for a blade. Dark brown surface coloration with parts flaking off showing a cream colour.

Context (Amendments / updates)
This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.
