Description

Two bone tools and one flat piece of ivory, possibly a blade or scraper. It is small and roughly rectangular, with a retouched edge. One piece of bone has a long shaft, tapering slightly to a rounded end. The other bone tool is shorter, possibly incomplete, with a large curved section cut out of one end, and a small groove cut into the other.

This collection was previously entered as from '?Southampton Island' and collected by Graham Rowley in 1936. However, they correspond to those excavated by Rowley in 1937 at the site of Avartoq [Akbahtok], Strathcona Sound, drawings of which are in his excavation notebook (XA/1/39/4). The Place field has been updated accordingly.
