Description (Physical description)
A large mortarium with a deep wide flange. There are makers stamps on either side of the spout and the flange has been decorated with a thin band of dark slip running around the top. There is very little grit left on the interior surface but there are some inclusions. The base is largely missing.

Richard Chadwick: 'VER WH. Buff / cream coloured complete mortarium with some damage (worn out base and repaired rim where the MATVGENVS stamp is). Some darker grits and pitting visible in base along with orange markings. Some evidence of burning. Rim ~6cm'
