Description (Physical description)
Peterborough Museum: 'Work box. Book-shaped wooden box with lock and hinged lift-up lid with painting of Beaufort Castle under glass. Box has 2 drawers with ring handles in the front and 4 compartments inside, 3 with lids and a curved semi-circular one at the back. The centre compartment has a mirror in the lid and open to reveal 6 smaller compartments, 5 with lids and one semi-circular one. Box is decorated inside and out with coloured straw marquetry in geometric diamond patterns.'
