Working model of a spinning wheel, with woman spinning, dressed in white skirt and bodice and wide brimmed hat. (Worked by cogwheels fixed below the platform on which the model stands. When the wheels turn, the woman lifts the thread to her lips)

Description (Physical description)
Peterborough Museum: 'Moving mechanical bone model of a woman at a spinning wheel. Mounted on a platform, with two solid bone cogs and a turning handle underneath. Mounted on four round bone feet. The woman is wearing a bonnet and the details of her clothes are picked out in red and yellow paint. When the handle is turned the cogs turn, and these are linked to the spinning wheel with thread to make that turn as well.'
