Description
Carved bone watchstand (circular) set into an intricately carved filigree bone screen, which is mounted inside a frame with two columns and two finely carved soldiers with spears, helmets and shields. The top of the frame is an archway with four finials and scallop-edged roof tiles. The bottom has filigree panels, four square legs and a scalloped edge. The circular watch case opens with a hasp and is decorated with a carved design of concentric circles.

For a watch or small clock; the round case holding the watch is framed in a bone panel carved a jour and surmounted by a canopy supported by four pillars, the two in front in the form of Roman soldiers wearing helmets and carrying shield and spear. (The watch is not the original one)
