Context (Field collection)
According to the workmen' s account the skeleton lay on its face, with one arm across its face and the other extended; the beads were round the wrist of the extended arm. The skeleton was not examined in situ, but T.C. Lethbridge visited the site immediately afterwards and was able to see exactly where it had lain and to recover the pin.

Context (Amendments / updates)
The accession register gives the location as Southery Fen, Isle of Ely - thereby implying the county of Cambridgeshire; the annual report and the catalogue card give the county as Norfolk. The latter is correct (although the confusion is understandable as Southery is near the border). Both the annual report and the accession register give the donor as Major Gordon Fowler, but for an unknown reason the catalogue card gives the source as the Cambridge Antiquarian Society, which as been transcribed into the CMS record. As the annual report and accession register agree, this has been removed and Fowler listed instead.

Context (Found together / assemblage)
The 1932 Lethbridge article implies (in the description of Plate XXXIII) that the female skeleton, beads and awl/pin were uncovered in 1920. The report on the skull (p. 364) indicates that it was once held by museum along with the beads and awl/pin.
