Description
Two fragments of a cruciform brooch. One is the top of the headplate, with a fully round, slightly facetted head knob. The second is the bow and upper part of the foot with catch plate behind. Heavily cleaned.

Described by Faye Minter, Jude Plouviez, Ian Riddler, Nicola Trzaska-Nartowski and Rose Broadley, and informed by Sue Anderson, on their visit on 25/11/2019: 'Two fragments of a cruciform brooch. One is the top of the headplate, with a fully round, slightly facetted head knob. The second is the bow and upper part of the foot with catch plate behind. Heavily cleaned. Martin type 1.2 (I canot be more precise as the foot is uncomplete), Phase A c 420-475 (Martin 2015, 26, 128). On ADS Martin believes from the publication that this example is burnt/ melted.'

Two fragments of an early copper alloy cruciform brooch. Part of headplate with spherical top knob present; detachable side knobs missing. Bow and upper section of horse head foot also present. Bow decorated with central groove and corner facets.
