Description

Small cinerary urn of red brown ware with a narrow pedestal foot and everted rim. Decorated with two parallel, horizontal grooves below the neck and two rows of bird stamps, possibly ducks. Upper row, birds heads tucked in; lower row, heads up. Below this is a band of double grooves creating a zigzag motif. Urn reconstructed from sherds and infill.

Catalgoue card for 1948.2488[.1-2]: Small urn of red-brown ware. Globular body and pedestal foot. Two parallel, horizontal grooves and two rows of stamped " duck" design. Upper row, duck' s head is turned underneath. Lower row, duck is swimming. Zig zag grooves at shoulder. Duck is stamped onto the urn.
