Catalogue card for 1949.230 has the following entry: "The site was excavated from 5th December 1938 to 24th February 1939. Below the oldest ground surface Neolithic B ware was found. Grooved ware occupation occurred at 2 old ground levels separated by a layerof fluviatile sand. Later finds include a Deverel Rimbury urnfield and R.B. ditches and rectangular huts. The two Grooved Ware levels have been labelled Neolithic I and Neolithic II by Mr. Leaf"
