Description

Copper alloy square headed brooch with rectangular headplate of concentric panels. The inner panel is decorated with grooved lines. The second panel is filled with 'S' shaped raised areas bordered by punched decoration resembling twisted cord. The frame is decorated with semicircular punchmarks; the upper corners are decorated with applied silver rhomboid plates. High-arched bow with longitudinal ridges. The tri-lobed foot is flanked by beasts with curving jaws, each lobe has an applied silver plate. Pin bar lugs and catchplate present on reverse.
