Description

Cast copper alloy cruciform brooch. Headplate with trapezoidal central panel and rectangular wings, both with punchmarks around the edges; half round top and side knobs. High arched bow with rectangular sections at the top and bottom. Flat panel decorated with transverse grooves. Horsehead terminal with grooved brows, protruding eyes and two notches at the base of the nose. Highly corroded iron pin bar lug; catch plate missing the pin rest on the reverse.
