Description
Flintlock strike a light of iron in the shape of a pistol with a wooden stock and butt with bulbous end and carved on its upper face with grooves and moulded in a triangular shape. On the right side there is an exposed mechanism consisting of a sear with attached trigger, a tumbler with attached hammer and a main spring; at the 'muzzle' sits a frizzen spring and a hinge which holds a leaf-shaped frizzen; on the left side sits a compartment for matches with hinged cover and short-armed candle socket; the barrel is raised on an inverted T-shaped stand of which one half is broken off and missing.
