Description

Sherds from lead glazed colander, now in three pieces which refit, including rim and base. Clubbed slightly everted rim, lightly curved body with incised line on exterior surface, tapering to a sagging bottom perforated with small holes. Fabric B, outer surface brown in colour with red tinge, dark orange core, interior surface covered in glaze.

McCarthy (1974) states 'There are scares, one above the other, on the side that may mark the position of a handle. The sagging base, perforated at close intervals, may originally have had three feet in the manner of Hungate examples.'
