Description

Part of a single-handled storage jar of medium red to grey fabric decorated externally with dark green glaze and internally with brown-green glaze. One large section, partially reconstructed using sherds and plaster infill, and two smaller sherds. The jar has: a flat, splayed base; a rounded body; horizontal grooves across the upper body and shoulder; a small neck; an everted rim with an internal flange, an externally thickened and rounded edge, and a raised band of thumb-impressed pie-crust decoration between the rim and neck; a vertical strap handle, mostly broken and missing, with an oval cross section and a circular thumb impression at the bottom.
