Description

Tripod pipkin of coarse, orange-brown fabric, partially decorated with thin brown glaze. Part of the rim and shoulder is broken and missing. The pipkin has: three pulled feet that curve outwards from the base, each foot is slightly pointed and flattened on the upper surface; a sagging base; a rounded body with traces of soot; a straight, angled strap handle, with a thumbed, oval-shaped depression at the base, a sub-rectangular cross-section, and a slight curve at the end; six incised horizontal lines on the shoulder; an everted, thickened rim with a rounded bevel on the outer edge.
