Description

Exchequer standard avoirdupois bronze bell weight (56 lbs) with solid loop handle. The slightly domed upper surface is stamped towards the front ‘LVI li A', with a small crown over ‘EL' stamped towards the rear; the front of the weight’s body is stamped 'AN[n]o DO[mini] 1588’; beneath this rests a crown over ‘EL’, with ‘Ao REG XXX’ stamped beneath.
