Description

Pot with upright rim, low shoulder and flat base. Decorated above the shoulder with two rows of stamps bound between three sets of three parallel grooves. Below the should is decorated with three-lined chevrons. Two type of stamp used. Large areas of body and rim missing, six sherds detached but present.

Description (CMS Description)
Small globular urn of brownish black ware with rounded shoulder and plain rim, slightly everted. Base rounded. Chevron design below shoulder formed by grooves grouped in ' 3s' . Neck decorated by 2 bands of different stamps between 3 parallel horizontal grooves. Anglian type
'Reconstructed using ?Plaster of Paris to line the vessel and hold it together. Has started to break away again, with a number of loose sherds. S-J Harknett 26/3/2001'
