Description

Pot of blackish brown ware, with narrow mouth and flat base base. Neck decorated with two bands of stamps interspersed with horizontal lines. Cable moulding above shoulder, below which is a third band of stamps. Four groups of three vertical bosses around shoulder, each decorated with vertical incised lines, below which is a swag design bordered with stamps; five stamps used in total. Large parts of pot have been reconstructed from sherds and infill, and rim is missing.

Description (CMS Description)
Pot - Elaborately decorated cremation urn of blackish brown ware, with a narrow rim and rounded base. The neck is decorated with two bands of stamp design interspersed with two bands of three vertical lines. Cable moulding is stamped just above the shoulder. Four groups of vertically placed strips arranged in threes are at shoulder. A swag design is imprinted on the bottom half of the body bordered with stamps of semi-circle design and four-pointed starts. This object is badly damaged with a plaster lining.
